I am a licensed home based childcare/preschool program on the South side of Indianapolis in Franklin Township. The state licensing requirements include CPR, first aid, safe sleep practices, background check, continued education, and much more. I also participate in the CACFP program. I earned the Child Development Associate (CDA) credential in January of 2016 and I am on the 3rd level of Indiana's paths to quality program.
My program is affordable, safe, fun, and educational in a loving home environment. I incorporate age appropriate learning activities and materials to achieve developmental milestones aligned to the foundations to Indiana academic standards. This creates an enriching learning environment that encourages social, cognitive, emotional, physical, language, and creative development. The program includes appropriate learning activities to help achieve necessary school readiness skills. This is achieved through a combination of circle time, small group time, the Handwriting Without Tears-Get Set for School Preschool Program, and creative interest centers. These centers include; reading, writing/literacy, art, blocks, dramatic play, math/numbers, music & movement, nature & science, sensory play, manipulatives, and gross motor. The layout of my home provides plenty of room for active and quiet play to meet the needs of all the children in my care. I have a large fenced in area that includes a basketball court that is wonderful for the use of ride-on toys.
