Our local elections are today! Get out and vote anytime from 6 A.M. to 6 P.M. These are important and will probably affect your life more than any national election. If you don't vote, then you have lost your right to complain. I'd like to thank our poll workers that will be putting in long hours to allow their fellow residents to do their civic duty. Know that every candidate appreciates the hard work you do! Now is the time to make your voice heard!
Elect Eddie for Indy
Eddie Barnes for City-County Council in Indianapolis, District 18. Hello! I am a Warren Central Graduate, Class of 2014.
I am Eddie Barnes, and I am running for Indianapolis City-County Council in District 18. I want to help bring economic benefits and security to an area of the city that desperately needs it. Indianapolis has so much potential, and I want to be one of those who helps our community seize success. I am currently studying Political Science as a Bepko Scholar at IUPUI. The East side is my home, and it always has been. Believe me when I say that I want nothing more than to help Indianapolis thrive.

The Democratic party has fought tirelessly to expand access to voting. However, today I learned of a communication (below) with which I disagree. I do not condone sharing one's voting record with neighbors. I would love to see every eligible voter exercise their right to vote, but it is also your right not to vote. I ask for your vote November 3rd to move Indianapolis forward.

The next Mayor of Indianapolis will have to avoid these no-bid contracts. The next Mayor of Indianapolis cannot make such huge decisions without having an open discussion with local business owners. The next Mayor of Indianapolis must not take shortcuts to skirt council approval. I want to be on that council. I want to work with the next Mayor of Indianapolis. Vote for me on November 3rd.

Mayor Ballard proposes to shortchange our community and public safety officers. Police officers and community members support body cameras, but Mayor Ballard only proposes $200,000 of the approximately $2 million needed to equip officers and maintain equipment. If he hadn't spent $5 million on a cricket field, which remains locked to the public, we could equip our officers.
