Earlier this week, Joy's House was featured on Indy Now!
Jillian stopped by our Broad Ripple house to learn more about Adult Day Services, caregiver support, and a recent Wish Day that brought nail polish, karaoke, and plenty of Steven Seagal photos to Joy's House.
We also shared details about our Open House on June 24!
If you missed the segment, take a few minutes to watch below. We are grateful to Jillian and the Indy Now team for spending the morning with us. 💙

Caring for a loved one is one of the most meaningful roles a person can take on, but caregivers need care too.
Respite care provides short-term support for seniors while giving family caregivers time to rest, recharge, travel, recover, or simply take a needed break. Support for caregivers can make a meaningful difference for the entire family.
At American Senior Communities, respite stays offer compassionate care, engaging activities, nutritious meals, and peace of mind for families when they need it most.

What does it look like when a community better understands dementia?
Holly Hess joined us on Caregiver Crossing this week to talk about CICOA Aging & In-Home Solutions, Dementia Friendly Indianapolis, Memory Cafés, and the everyday steps that can help families feel less alone when they are noticing changes in someone they love.
The photo shared here is from the Dementia Friendly Indianapolis Action Team’s May meeting. Noah Taylor, producer of Caregiver Crossing, is also part of the leadership team for the Dementia Friendly Indianapolis Action Team, and we are grateful for the chance to share this important work with families across Central Indiana.

We were so grateful to have Lana Wilhelm join us on Caregiver Crossing for a conversation about stroke, marriage, and the kind of caregiving you can never fully understand until you are living it.
Lana shares how caring for her husband, Rick, changed the way she saw caregiving, even after more than 40 years as a registered nurse. She also talks about her books and CarePower Connect, formerly Stroke Caregiver Connection, which helps caregivers find education, guidance, and support after stroke.
Listen to the full conversation here: https://joyshouse.org/center-for-caregivers/ or wherever you listen to podcasts!

We want to begin by saying thank you.
Thank you to every family who trusted Joy’s House with your loved one at our UIndy location. Choosing adult day services is not a small decision, and we have always understood the weight and the privilege of being invited into your lives.
With grateful hearts, we want to share that our last day of services at Joy’s House UIndy was May 29, 2026.
Joy’s House is still here, and our mission continues. Our Broad Ripple location remains open and is accepting new families for adult day services and caregiver support.
This was not a quick or easy decision. For years, our UIndy house has been filled with favorite songs, good conversations, creative projects, and familiar faces. We are deeply thankful for the Guests, caregivers, staff, volunteers, students, and supporters who made this house what it was.
On the final day, our Guests created a craft together, one more shared piece of the story they built in that space.
To our UIndy families, thank you for letting us be part of your story.
