Another beautiful, clear day provides contractors with ideal conditions to kick off a milling and paving project on 10th Street from Shadeland Avenue to Emerson Avenue. Drivers may encounter brief lane closures while this work is taking place. Please drive safely.

The new Henry Street Bridge is looking absolutely stunning! Contractors are continuing to forge ahead on this iconic project, which is set to open in late 2026.

Indy DPW continues to move north on Shelby Street as construction on the massive $14 million drainage improvement project moves forward in Fountain Square.

Crews are continuing to make progress on new sidewalks with over 4,000 linear feet of new sidewalks planned in this project. As the sidewalks inch closer to completion, so is the protected cycle track barrier! The barrier will separate bicycle traffic from vehicles, creating a dedicated space for cyclists while improving safety and encouraging more people to bike through Fountain Square. The cycle track will also be complemented by new ADA-accessible infrastructure and upgraded crosswalk connections that are currently under construction.

While many of the visible improvements are taking shape above ground, crews are also installing more than 5,000 linear feet of new storm sewer beneath the corridor. This critical infrastructure will help move stormwater more efficiently through the neighborhood, reducing flooding concerns and helping preserve roadways, sidewalks, and other public assets.

This gives us a preview of the safer and more accessible corridor that’s taking shape in Fountain Square!

It's a new month, and contractors kicked it off by applying a fresh layer of asphalt along Southport Road between Franklin Road and Shelbyville Road on the city's southeast side. Drivers may see periodic lane closures while this work is taking place. Please be careful.

The 16th Street Bridge over White River is now closed to vehicular traffic for repairs. Residents will still be able to access sidewalks across the bridge during construction. Indy DPW and our contractors remain committed to reopening the bridge as soon as possible, without compromising on quality or safety.

Our team was thrilled to work with the Fountain Square Neighborhood Association on a new tactical urbanism installation on English Avenue between Laurel Street and State Avenue!

Contractors are ending the week on a strong note with a strip-patching project on Southport Road from Shelbyville Road to Hartington Place. Work will continue on this stretch of road Monday. Please drive carefully around our workers.

Construction on Madison Avenue is looking great! Crews are almost ready to start phase two between Martin Street and Hanna Avenue.
