Our Jaguars enjoyed hot cocoa, homemade cookies, and the opportunity to explore books from a variety of genres during our very first StarBooks Book Tasting!

It was a wonderful way to spark curiosity, discover new interests, and encourage a love of reading!

We loved seeing our students explore the possibilities that books have to offer. We can’t wait for the next one! 📚💙

Our boys fell 46–22 against a tough Paige team, but continued to battle until the final whistle! A special shoutout to Julian Rivas and Preston Edge for their hustle, determination, and hard work throughout the game!

We kicked off the morning with Chris Mukiibi, who shared valuable behavior design system strategies to strengthen our practices and support student success. We’re so grateful for his time and expertise!

A HUGE shoutout to Ms. VanBrunt for leading our staff through ELPAC and ELD strategies, and to Ms. Bossi for sharing literacy strategies to strengthen reading and literacy development across our campus!

So proud of our staff for continuing to learn, grow, and invest in our students. When we grow, our students grow!

🚨🐆💙 Safety and Preparedness at TJMS!

Today at 10:15 AM, TJMS participated in the California Great ShakeOut! Our students and staff did a fantastic job evacuating safely and in an orderly manner.

A special thank you to our Desert Sands Security Team for leading our staff through Search and Rescue training, including scenarios involving injured individuals. Shoutout to Ms. McCallum and Mrs. Bautista for volunteering as our simulated injured staff members!

Each drill allows us to build on our emergency response procedures and strengthen our preparedness. Our goal is always the same: keeping our students, staff, and school community safe!

¡Hoy a las 10:15 AM, TJMS participó en el Gran Simulacro de Terremoto de California (Great ShakeOut)! Nuestros estudiantes y personal hicieron un excelente trabajo evacuando de manera segura y ordenada.

Un agradecimiento especial a nuestro Equipo de Seguridad de Desert Sands por capacitar a nuestro personal en protocolos de búsqueda y rescate, incluyendo situaciones con personas lesionadas. ¡Gracias a Ms. McCallum y Mrs. Bautista por participar como nuestras empleadas lesionadas durante el simulacro!

Today, over 90 Jaguars participated in our 2nd Annual College Quest! Our amazing staff represented their alma maters, giving students the opportunity to “visit” 11 colleges, learn about college life, and collect stamps in their College Passports!

Congratulations to the 29 students who collected all 11 stamps, earning Synergy Points and In-N-Out gift cards! 🎉

A HUGE thank you to Mr. Valencia, Mr. Rittenhouse, Ms. Gutierrez, Ms. Valentic, Mr. Alvarez, Ms. Frazier, Mr. Trevino, Mr. Valenzuela, Mr. Lopez, Mrs. Mares, Ms. Sylva, Ms. McCarthy, and Irma, along with DSUSD Catering, Custodial, and our ASB students for making this event possible!

Tonight, we had the wonderful opportunity to showcase some of the amazing things happening at Thomas Jefferson Middle School with the students and families of Dr. Carreon Elementary!

I couldn’t be more proud of our incredible student leaders, Danna Rivera de la Herran, Isabella Ortiz, Julie Osuna, Abigail Flores, and Miguel Vasquez, along with our talented robotics students, for doing such a fantastic job representing TJMS!

A special thank you to Mr. Valenzuela and Mr. Lopez for supporting our student ambassadors and helping make tonight a success.

Our students represented Jefferson with confidence, leadership, and excellence! The future is bright at TJMS! 🐆💙

🐆💙 Student Voice in Action at TJMS!

I couldn’t be more proud of our PLUS (Peer Leaders Uniting Students) students for launching their very first Student Forum today!

Our Jaguars came together to build community, connect with classmates, reflect on school data, share their thoughts and concerns about campus life, and, most importantly, discuss solutions to make TJMS an even better place!

A huge shoutout to Mr. Trevino for facilitating today’s forum and to our incredible PLUS student leaders for guiding their peers through meaningful conversations!

And here’s the best part: Their voices matter! The feedback gathered will be shared with our Tier 1 Student Voice Committee and brought forward to our Tier 1 and Leadership Teams to help guide schoolwide decisions.

We believe students should have a voice in shaping their school experience. Today was a great step in that direction!

Our Varsity Volleyball and Boys Basketball teams competed against Palm Desert Charter Middle School!

🏀 Boys Basketball
Our Jaguars fell 46–8, but the score doesn’t tell the whole story. Our boys continued to compete, battled throughout the game, and never stopped giving their best effort. We’re proud of their determination and look forward to seeing their growth throughout the season!

🏐 Varsity Volleyball
Our girls earned a 2–0 victory, winning 25–22 and 25–12! 🙌

Quetzalli Saldivar and Kiki Ramirez had outstanding all-around performances and made an impact throughout the match. Adolfo Ortiz, Annabelle Zazueta, and Teresa Campos also did a great job from the service line, consistently putting pressure on Palm Desert.

Great job to all of our student-athletes for competing hard and representing Jefferson with pride! Keep it up, Jaguars! 🐆💙
