Join us as we celebrate the vision of Martin Himler, the arrival of the railroad that forever changed Martin County, and the rich coal mining heritage that helped shape our communities.

This exciting new exhibit features historic photographs, interpretive displays, and the story of the people, railroad, and industry that built this region. Special thanks to the Kentucky Heritage Council and the America250KY Grant Program for helping make this project possible.

Everyone is welcome! Come help us celebrate 105 years since Martin County welcomed its first train—and the preservation of the legacy that still connects us today.

We’re looking for local farmers, bakers, beekeepers, artisans, quilters, woodworkers, candy makers, jelly and jam makers, and anyone who creates or grows products right here in Martin County.

Today, we celebrate the birth of our nation and reflect on the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering spirit of those who fought to secure the freedoms we enjoy today.

As America begins celebrating its 250th birthday, we are especially grateful for the opportunity to honor our country’s remarkable history while looking ahead to an even brighter future. Here in Martin County, we are proud of our heritage, proud of our people, and proud to be part of this historic milestone.

We invite everyone to join us as we celebrate America 250 with a day filled with patriotism, family fun, community pride, and unforgettable memories.

🐾 Seasonal Animal Shelter Assistant 🐾

If you love animals and are looking for a rewarding summer job, we’d love to hear from you!

We’re seeking a Seasonal Animal Shelter Assistant to help care for the dogs at our shelter through August 5.

Responsibilities include:
🐶 Cleaning kennels and shelter areas
🛁 Bathing dogs
🐕 Walking and exercising dogs
❤️ Assisting with the daily care and well-being of our shelter animals

Position Details:
• Seasonal position through August 5
• $10–$12 per hour
• Applicants must be 18–24 years old
