INKSTER RESIDENTS SPOKE. CITY LEADERS LISTENED. 📣

Your voices matter, Inkster!

Following a packed City Council meeting where residents voiced their concerns about a proposed data center, Inkster City Council and Mayor Byron Nolen heard the community loud and clear.

No action was taken to move the proposal forward.

During the meeting, approximately 20–30 residents spoke out, sharing their concerns and opposition to the project.

Mayor Nolen reflected on the evening, saying, "We listen to our residents. They told us what they want, and that's what we do. We represent that. Democracy was shown."

"To every resident who showed up, spoke out, asked questions, or simply came to listen — THANK YOU," Mayor Pro Tem, Councilman Steven Chisholm.

Your participation is what makes local government work. We appreciate your willingness to engage with your elected officials and help shape the future of our city.

This is YOUR city. Your voice matters. And we are listening!

💜 KNOW THE SIGNS. RECOGNIZE THE RED FLAGS.
Domestic violence is more than physical abuse. It can involve controlling behaviors, emotional manipulation, financial restrictions, threats, and intimidation.
🚩 Constant criticism or humiliation
🚩 Isolation from friends and family
🚩 Controlling finances or employment
🚩 Monitoring phones, messages, or locations
🚩 Threats, intimidation, or physical harm
Love should never come with fear, control, or intimidation.
The Inkster Police Department encourages everyone to learn the warning signs, check on loved ones, and help create a community where survivors feel safe seeking support.
💜 Awareness is the first step toward prevention.
