If you are a friend of Mend, you likely know, or know of, our dear Kyia.
Yesterday afternoon, Kyia made her Great Migration. She always honored seasons and cycles, so it feels quite fitting that she departed for her heavenly homecoming as millions of birds and butterflies make their own migration toward the light.
Of the many things she did exceptionally well, making things beautiful was her hallmark.
Today, we went to the spot Kyia chose for her darling pop-up, Hildy—a temporary dwelling space for those who need respite—and covered the land with repurposed flowers from a recent family wedding.
Next to the mound of flowers is a fire pit. We invite anyone who would like to come to the Mend land to honor Kyia’s legacy to do so.
Some beautiful options could be adding flowers, creating a mandala, sitting by the fire, writing a note to her in the notebook inside the airstream… whatever feels right to you.
The space can be found at the 6515 Babcock Trail, driveway on the Mend property. We will attach a picture of the signs you will see at the correct driveway.
In the coming weeks, we will find a way to celebrate her life together and post here for those who would like to join🤍
