Faces of Inwood: Meet Tim & Leah Blankespoor
Tim has lived in or around Inwood his entire life, and I moved to Inwood when we got married in 1999. We raised our two children in town and were blessed to call it home until 2017, when we moved just a couple of miles outside of town. Our daughter, Emery, is a Junior at Iowa State and our son, Elliot, is a junior at Western Christian High School.
One of the things we love most about Inwood is the strong sense of community. It's the kind of town where neighbors help neighbors, and everyone comes together to support one another.
The Fourth of July has always been a special tradition for Inwood. I was recruited the year we got married to help in the food stands and have been doing it ever since. Our children began volunteering as soon as they were old enough to count money, carry supplies, or lend a helping hand. They've been involved in the Fourth of July festivities for as long as they can remember, and those experiences have taught them the value of service, hard work, and community involvement.
We are thankful to be part of a town that cares so deeply for one another and proud to continue calling Inwood home.
Let’s celebrate the amazing people who make our city so special!
