Happy 250th Birthday, America. 🇺🇸

Two hundred and fifty years ago, ordinary men and women made an extraordinary choice. They refused to surrender the God-given rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Farmers, merchants, blacksmiths, mothers, and soldiers stood together against the most powerful empire in the world, believing that freedom was worth any sacrifice.

From the first shots of the American Revolution came a nation founded on courage, perseverance, and the conviction that government exists to serve the people—not rule them.

For 250 years, generations of Americans have answered the call to defend those ideals. On battlefields across the world and in communities across our nation, they have carried forward the promise of liberty for future generations.

Today, we honor the vision of our Founding Fathers, the sacrifices of our veterans and service members, and the enduring spirit of every American who has worked to build a stronger nation.

May we never take our freedom for granted, and may we always strive to leave this country stronger than we found it.

Happy 250th Birthday, America. God Bless the United States of America! 🇺🇲

**PRESS RELEASE**

**FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE**

On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, a search warrant was executed on Dick Barnes Loop in Bedias, Texas with multiple law enforcement agencies assisting including: Grimes County Constable’s Office, Pct. 1, Grimes County District Attorney’s Office, Grimes County Constable’s Office Pct. 2 and Pct.’s 3 & 4, Grimes County Sheriff’s Office, the Texas Department of Public Safety and US Immigration & Customs Enforcement.

Constable Pct. 1 James Ellis and Chief Investigator John Wren with the District Attorney’s Office were conducting a joint investigation related to a S*xual Assault of a Child case reported earlier in the week. As the investigation progressed, it was learned the suspect, Fidel Ramos (age 52), was living at a residence on Dick Barnes Loop in Bedias, Texas. Fidel Ramos is a registered s*x offender and was previously deported from the United States after serving prison time for S*xual Assault of a Child out of Madison County, Texas. It was determined Fidel Ramos was not registered as a s*x offender with local law enforcement.

An arrest warrant was obtained for Fidel Ramos for Failure to Register as a S*x Offender, which is a 3rd Degree Felony. A search warrant was then obtained for a property on Dick Barnes Loop to seize Fidel Ramos based on him being a wanted felon and probable cause that he was concealed on the property.

When the search warrant was executed, Fidel Ramos was found hiding in a residence on the property. Law enforcement had to make forced entry into the residence after Fidel Ramos refused to exit the structure. Fidel Ramos was transported to the Grimes County Jail and booked in for the Failure to Register as a S*x Offender arrest warrant. The following day US Immigration & Customs Enforcement also placed an immigration detainer on Fidel Ramos.

The S*xual Assault of a Child investigation is ongoing. No additional details regarding that case are being released as this time.
