Star of Life Challenge accepted!
Thank you Area Ambulance Service for the nomination. :)

The Star of Life is the official symbol of EMS. It represents prehospital medicine through healing and renewal. The six points of the star can also represent the six points in the Chain of Survival.

Spread the word about the importance of bystander Hands-Only CPR and AED use to increase survival from sudden cardiac arrest.

We will keep this challenge alive by nominating Iowa City Public Safety (ICFD) , Iowa County EMS, West Des Moines Emergency Medical Services and MEDIC EMS of Scott County.

Join the Public Health Strike Force at Iowa on September 11 for an Emergency Preparedness Fair on campus, funded by a $2,500 9/11 Day of Service grant. Local partners will share vital resources to help students prepare for disasters and emergencies. Attendees who visit event stations can collect essential items to build their own emergency preparedness kits.
