What a great afternoon spent with Dickinson County employees!

Today, we brought our Veterans Outreach program directly to their workplace! We had the opportunity to sit down with Veterans, answer questions about VA disability compensation and the claims process, and share information about other benefits they may be eligible for. Veterans also had the opportunity to ask questions about VA health care and, if eligible, get enrolled right there on the spot!

A special thank you to Dickinson County for welcoming us and giving us the opportunity to connect with their Veteran employees.

To our local businesses and employers, your workplace could be our next stop!
We're always looking for ways to reach more Veterans right where they are.

Sometimes, all it takes is a conversation to make a difference.

Today, on National POW/MIA Recognition Day, the Dickinson County Veterans Service Office honors the brave Americans who were held as prisoners of war and those who are still missing.

We also honor the families who still wait for answers. We will never forget their loved ones’ service and sacrifice.

Please take a moment today to remember them and renew our promise to bring our missing home.

👩‍⚕️ About the Event:
For the first time, the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center is hosting healthcare enrollment events just for women Veterans! Our all-women outreach and enrollment team will be there to answer your questions, explain your options, and help you access the benefits and care you’ve earned.

Thanks to the PACT Act (2022), VA healthcare eligibility has expanded—so if you were previously denied or aren’t sure if you qualify, now’s the time to check. New benefits include:
• Free hearing aids and eyeglasses
• Lower-cost healthcare
• Affordable medication co-pays (as low as $8, capped at $33 monthly)
• Some Veterans may pay nothing at all
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Who Can Attend:
All women Veterans and their families are welcome! We’ll have free on-site childcare, so you can focus on enrollment and exploring your benefits.

• Last year’s income information
• Marriage date (if married)
• Birthdates & Social Security numbers for any dependents
