As any resident of Irondequoit knows, we have an unusually large deer population. Our yearly Deer Management Program started this week. Bow hunters will be in the woods each weekday. Our Department works closely with the DEC on studying CWD and Foodlink to provide free venison for those less fortunate.

Guilty on all counts!

A little over 2 years ago our officers responded to a crime scene that will forever change our lives. Inside 329 Knapp Ave, we found a family that had been brutally murdered, including 2 innocent children, Evangeline Ubaldo-Moreno and Sebastian Ubaldo-Moreno.

The officers and investigators worked tirelessly to uncover clues as well as eliciting the help of all our partners in law enforcement. As parents, aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters, the killing of innocent children struck a cord in all of us.

The suspects were identified fairly quickly. 1 brother was arrested within a week. The second brother was arrested after it was discovered that he fled to the Dominican Republic.

Today, both brothers were found guilty on all counts. They will be sentenced in November and hopefully, will never see the light of day again!

Thank you to every local, state, and federal police officer that assisted us in this investigation. Special thanks goes to Wayne County DA Christine Callanan and Victoria Porter for your prosecutorial skills in achieving justice for the victims and families.

As this chapter closes, we can only hope the family members affected by these senseless murders can start to heal. Our officers have started that process and today will certainly help them.

Guilty on all counts!
