Come see us at Old Miners Day!

Members of the Iron County Sheriff’s Office are out at Old Miners Day today enjoying the festivities and spending time with our community.

If you see us out and about, don’t hesitate to stop and say hello! We always appreciate the opportunity to visit with the people we serve outside of our everyday duties.

And while you’re here, don’t forget to stop by the Shop With Heroes booth! Your support helps make Christmas a little brighter for children and families in our community. 🎄

We hope everyone has a fun and safe Old Miners Day. Come out, enjoy the festivities, and come see us! 🇺🇸

We invite you to join us on Saturday, September 12th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Arcadia Valley Chamber of Commerce Visitor’s Center, Iron County Historical Society Museum, and Arcadia Valley Amtrak Station (yes—our historic triple purpose landmark!) as Our Town Tomorrow celebrates two major anniversaries connected to this beloved building.

Enjoy refreshments, giveaways, drawings, photos and guided tours—including a special look inside the newly renovated caboose and tours of the Historical Society’s collections.

About Our Town Tomorrow: Our Town Tomorrow is the non-profit arm of the Arcadia Valley Chamber of Commerce. Established in 1993 and granted 501(c)(3) status in 2003, its mission remains: “To establish Arcadia Valley as a center of activity in which to live, work, shop, play, and invest in; thereby symbolizing community pride.”

Why We’re Celebrating

• 20 Years of Preservation In 2026: We mark the 20th anniversary of the purchase of the historic red granite building that served as the Arcadia–Ironton Railroad Station from 1941 to 1968. After years of sitting empty and deteriorating, the station was rescued thanks to $171,498 in Missouri Neighborhood Assistance Program tax credits, allowing OTT to purchase and restore the structure. Since reopening, thousands of visitors from across the United States—and around the world—have passed through its doors.

• 10 Years of Amtrak’s Return to Arcadia Valley: 2026 also marks the 10th anniversary of the return of Amtrak passenger service to our community. Beginning in 2012, Amtrak, Union Pacific, MoDOT, the City of Arcadia, and dedicated community members worked together to turn a long-held dream into reality. Funding from the Taum Sauk Fund, William Edgar Foundation, Iron County Economic Partnership, and a MoDOT Transportation Enhancement Grant made the project possible.

With more than $620,000 secured, construction of the station platform began in April 2016. The station was completed that October, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony and ceremonial train ride on November 17, 2016. Regular passenger service began on November 20, 2016.

Our Town Tomorrow remains deeply grateful for the support of federal, state, county, and city officials; local businesses and community members; Amtrak and Union Pacific; the Texas Eagle Marketing and Performance Organization (TEMPO); the engineers; and Harlan Construction Company. Their efforts made this achievement possible.

Come celebrate these two remarkable milestones with us. We look forward to seeing you and sharing this special day together!
