Would your child know how to call 9-1-1 if you have an emergency?

Helping your child understand when and how to call 9-1-1 can literally save a life. Even little ones can learn the basics.

1. HOME ADDRESS-what road they live on and the house number.

2. PARENT NAMES-Mommy and Daddy's full name.

3. PHONE NUMBER-the number they should give if they ever have to call 9-1-1.

4. HOW TO DIAL 9-1-1-show them the buttons and explain it's ONLY for emergencies.

Most children can start learning these things around the ages of 3 to 4, and by 5 or 6 they can usually repeat their address and make a simple emergency call with guidance.

Make it fun and repeat it often, practice like a little safety game. The more confident they are, the safer they are.
