🏆 IUSD ranks No. 1 in Math, Science and English Language Arts/Literacy (ELA) for the 10th consecutive year among districts serving 35,000 or more students, according to results from the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP)! 📚🔬➗

📊 IUSD students continue to outperform state and county averages by significant margins! Here are some highlights:

In 2026, the percentage of IUSD students scoring proficient or above exceeded statewide rates by:

🔹 Math: 32 percentage points
🔹 Science: 29 percentage points
🔹 ELA: 25 percentage points

📈 More Students. Sustained Excellence. Over the past decade, IUSD has maintained high academic achievement while welcoming more than 7,000 additional students and serving a growing number of students requiring additional learning supports.

🎨 What first sparked your creativity? For IUSD’s advanced art students, the answer took shape on a paint palette.

At the annual Point of Origin Palette Show, student artists from Irvine, Northwood, Portola, University and Woodbridge high schools transformed their palettes into personal works of art. ✨

🧩🖌️🎨This inclusive art show welcomed a wide range of student voices and perspectives, with each artist using color, texture and imagery to reflect the experiences and ideas that inspire them to create vibrant worlds of their own. 💙

Don’t miss this unforgettable evening of music, movement and school spirit, featuring more than 1,200 talented IUSD student musicians and performers! 🙌

Today, October 15, at 10:15 a.m., our schools will participate in the Great California ShakeOut as part of IUSD’s ongoing earthquake and emergency preparedness training and planning. The drill gives students and staff an opportunity to practice earthquake safety procedures and emergency response.

The Great ShakeOut is also a good reminder to make sure your family is prepared for an emergency:

🙌 The California School Employees Association (CSEA), Irvine Chapter 517 hosted a luncheon for IUSD’s classified employees.🥳

⭐️ This dedicated group of
professionals, includes custodians, para-educators, media technicians, nutrition services staff, analysts, secretaries, bus drivers, maintenance technicians, clerks, campus safety staff and other non-certificated staff members spanning more than 100 classifications.

Board Members Lauren Brooks, Jeff Kim, Katie McEwen, Connie Stone and Cyril Yu, and Superintendent Cassie Parham, along with members of the District’s Cabinet attended the lunch to express their appreciation for our classified employees, who work tirelessly to support students, staff, families and operations throughout the district. 👏💙

🥪🍎 Step right up 🎪 and join us in celebrating National School Lunch Week! 🙌

This week, we’re highlighting how nutrition takes center stage as we celebrate the dedicated IUSD Nutrition Services team members who help fuel learning by serving nutritious meals to students across our district each school day. ❤️

School meals are about more than what’s on the tray. They help ensure students have access to nutritious food so they can stay focused, energized and ready to learn.
