🏈🇺🇸 ONE TEAM. ONE FIGHT.
Today was about more than football.
DFW Recruiting Battalion Commander LTC Jade Root had the privilege of spending time with an incredible group of high school athletes from across the DFW area at the Women’s All-American Flag Football Showcase.
The connection between athletics and Army service is powerful: teamwork, discipline, resilience, leadership, and the commitment to something bigger than yourself. Those are qualities these young women already demonstrate every time they step onto the field.
As they competed for the opportunity to earn an All-American jersey, LTC Root left them with one message:
“Whatever happens on this field, the Army team always has a jersey for you, too.” 🇺🇸
A special shoutout to SSG Rodriguez, 1st Company, who was a key integrator in coordinating and facilitating the event—and even challenged the ladies to a race! 🏃♂️💨🏃♀️ That’s one way to put Be All You Can Be to the test!
We also appreciate Kevin Dickens Jr., President/Co-Founder of Unleashed Flag Football and National Director of Flag for the U.S. Army Military Flag Bowl, and Ricky Collins Jr., former NFL/CFL wide receiver and current coach at All Saints Episcopal School in Tyler, for investing their time and leadership in these athletes.
And a special thank you to Rich McGuinness and the entire All-American Flag Football team for helping create opportunities where young athletes can compete, grow, lead, and see just how far their talents can take them.
The DFW Lone Stars are proud to support this event, and we’re looking forward to continuing the partnership at the Military Appreciation event this December.
Different uniforms. Same values. One Team. One Fight. 🇺🇸🏈
