Storytime with Ms. Stephanie is the best! Thank you, Irving Public Library for having us out.

Thank you Irving, for making Irving Fire Department and Irving Public Library the top two departments in the customer satisfaction survey!

We’re so glad to serve our community, and sometimes we get to do it together.

Captain Brent Jenkins brought some of his team from Station 10 to Ms. Stephanie’s storytime last week to talk about fire safety, show kids their gear and their firetruck!

Kids also got to hear stories and sing songs to learn more about firefighters.

Irving – better together!

Our LAST — and most important — National Preparedness Month Challenge! MAKE A FIRE ESCAPE PLAN! Once a smoke alarm sounds, you may have less than 2 minutes to escape a home fire. That’s why planning ahead can make all the difference.
✅ Make sure smoke alarms are installed in every bedroom, outside sleeping areas, and on every level of your home.
✅ Identify 2 ways out of every room when possible.
✅ Know where all exit stairs are, especially if you live in a high-rise or condominium.
✅ Choose a meeting place outside.
✅ Practice your escape plan with everyone in your household.
🚪 Remember: A closed door can slow the spread of smoke, heat, and fire.
You made it to the final challenge! Send us a DM if you completed all 4 challenges.
