Ever wondered how to learn to save a life and make new best friends on a Saturday? Welcome to the IVAC EMS Training Center! 🚑💨

For over 30 years, the IVAC EMS Training Center has been turning students, career-changers, and neighbors into confident EMTs. Today’s in-person skills lab proved two big things: learning emergency medicine is serious work, and doing it together is an absolute blast.

Whether you’re a student eyeing a medical career, a professional ready for a pivot, a local neighbor who wants to be ready for anything, or a volunteer looking to serve—it really does take a village. (And yes, that village needs seats, which fill up fast across our 3 annual cohorts!).

🚑 VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: Conor Woodley, EMT 🚑

Meet Conor Woodley! Conor is a senior at Dobbs Ferry High School who joined the Irvington Volunteer Ambulance Corps nine months ago after a friend introduced him to the team.

For Conor, serving with IVAC provides hands-on emergency care experience while giving back directly to the local community. His favorite part of volunteering is the strong sense of community among members, and when he isn't on shift, you can find him playing soccer!

We are grateful to have Conor on our team!

Pups & Cups is almost here! ☕🐶

First responders carry heavy burdens every day. Irregular hours, traumatic calls, and a culture that discourages vulnerability lead many to struggle quietly in isolation. Loneliness profoundly impacts our emotional health and erodes vital community connections.

Pups & Cups exists to rebuild these connections through simple moments of warmth, coffee, and dog snuggles.

🐾Who: ALL Irvington First Responders and their families (ages 5+).
🐾When: Saturday, October 3, 2026 | 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
🐾Where: IVAC | 80 Main St, Irvington, NY 10533

Originally created for EMTs and paramedics at IVAC, the Pups & Cups model adapts easily to any agency supporting team members through demanding roles.
