Our officers had a great time teaching the little ones about bicycle safety at Ring Around the Rosie Preschool!
Special thank you to Mrs. Walkers Ice Cream for sponsoring “Operation Sweet Summer” for another great season!

Operation Sweet Summer program is a bicycle safety initiative designed to promote compliance with state helmet laws and decrease riding-related head injuries. During the summer, patrol officers look out for children safely wearing their helmets while riding bikes, scooters, skateboards, or rollerblades. When an officer spots a child practicing proper safety, they reward them with an ice cream voucher valid for a free small soft ice cream cone at a local favorite, Mrs. Walker's Ice Cream.🍦 🚴

On August 7th, the Island Heights Police Department and the Island Heights Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 went head-to-head in our Cops vs. Firemen annual game.

This wasn't about bragging rights , it was all to promote the Junior Firefighter Program and get the next generation involved in serving our town.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out, to our police officers and fire volunteers who put on a great game, and to the kids who brought the energy.

If you want to learn more about the Junior Firefighter Program, reach out to the firehouse at 15 Lake Ave.
