Issaquah Police Department is excited to announce our 2026 pink patch! This year we are highlighting the 12s, 12saquah, and futures a view overlooking the city from Foothills Dr NW in the Talus neighborhood.

This year as in years past, money raised through patch sales will benefit Footprints of Fight , an organization that provides support to families facing pediatric cancer. You can learn more about their mission and the families they help at www.footprintsoffight.org.

Each patch is $10, and you can pick one up in person or have one mailed to you.

If you’re heading to Salmon Days, come find us at our booth! We’ll have a supply of patches available for $10 each. Sales at the booth will be exact cash only, unfortunately, we won’t be able to accept checks or make change.

Can’t make it to Salmon Days? You can still get a patch. Head over to www.footprintsoffight.org and make a $10 donation for each patch you’d like.

Once you’ve donated, send your donation receipt to [email protected] along with your mailing address and the number of patches you ordered. We’ll take care of getting them mailed out to you.

Grab a patch, support a great organization, and help make a difference for families fighting pediatric cancer.

The Great 2026 Goat Escape!

Back on September 7th some very baaaaaad goats managed to escape their enclosure in the area of Issaquah Fall City Rd and Highlands Dr.

Day shift responded, made some new friends, and were able to work with the owner and a farm hand to return these rambunctious kids to their proper pasture. Apparently“goat wrangler” is buried in the job description these days.

Additional officers are working this week conducting traffic enforcement, spending some extra time keeping an eye on speeds in our school zones.

During the stop pictured here, the driver received an infraction, also known as a ticket, for going 43 mph in the 20 mph school zone at Grand Ridge Elementary.

That’s more than double the posted speed limit, in a school zone.

Please slow down, pay attention, and help us keep our students safe!

School is officially back in session in Issaquah!

With kids back in school, please keep an eye out for students walking and biking, slow down in school zones, and watch for school buses.

A big thank you to Summit Classical Christian School for inviting us out to be part of their first day of school. We had a great time welcoming students back and seeing all the excitement for the year ahead.

We hope all of our Issaquah students, teachers, and families have a great school year!

This summer, IPD has seen a concerning increase in incidents involving juveniles. To help prevent potentially tragic consequences, we’re asking parents to have a conversation with their youth about making safe, responsible decisions.

We’re all in this together, and by working together, we can help keep Issaquah safe.

Issaquah Police Arrest Suspect in Fatal Collision

The Issaquah Police Department arrested an adult suspect in connection with a fatal collision that investigators believe was a suspected intentional act. The suspect, a 22-year-old Renton man, was booked into the King County Jail on probable cause for second-degree murder.

At 8:49 p.m. July 31, 2026, Issaquah police officers responded to a reported injury collision involving a motorcycle in the 800 block of Lake Drive. Officers, along with Eastside Fire & Rescue personnel, arrived and located the rider. Despite lifesaving efforts, the victim, a 20-year-old Issaquah man, died at the scene from his injuries.

As officers investigated the collision, surveillance video revealed the involvement of a second vehicle. The footage showed the suspect vehicle striking the motorcycle, causing the rider to lose control and suffer fatal injuries.

The driver left the scene without stopping or rendering aid. Approximately one hour later, the suspect returned to the scene with a family member and agreed to speak with investigators. During interviews with investigators, the suspect made statements acknowledging that he struck the victim's motorcycle while acting out of anger.

As the investigation progressed, detectives determined that the suspect and the victim were co-workers. There is evidence indicating the suspect surveilled and followed the victim before intentionally driving into the motorcycle.

Based on the evidence gathered, detectives recommended charges to the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for murder in the second degree.

“Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the victim as they process this tragic loss of life,” said Issaquah Police Chief Steve Mylett.
