Mississippi Department of Mental Health MDMH is supporting a better tomorrow in the lives of Mississippians living with mental illness.

The Mississippi Department of Mental Health (DMH) administers and operates state behavioral health programs and regional programs for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The behavioral health programs provide inpatient services for adults and children with serious mental illness and substance use disorders, and the programs for persons with IDD provide residential services and licensed homes for community living. A variety of community services and supports is also available through DMH operated programs and DMH certified providers, depending on the program/provider and location. Call 1-877-210-8513 if you or a loved one needs mental health, substance use, or intellectual/developmental disability services.

September is Su***de Prevention Month, and this month we have a special episode of Real Hope that tells you about some of the great efforts taking place with 988 in Mississippi. Brenda Patterson and Katrina Sunivelle, Executive Directors of Contact the Crisis Line and Contact Helpline, the state's two 988 call centers, discuss their work and what happens when you call 988. They're also joined by Teresa Mosley, Chair of the Board of Mental Health, who shares why services and supports like 988 are so important. After losing her daughter, she has spent years working to make sure others know how important it is to speak out, whether they're asking for it or offering it. Take a few minutes and hear from these three leaders in our state!

Preventing overdose and supporting recovery takes all of us.

Follow Stand Up, Mississippi to stay informed about overdose prevention, naloxone, recovery resources, and the work happening across our state to save lives.

Together, we can make a difference.

The opioid crisis touches communities across our state, but so does our ability to make a difference.

By learning about overdose prevention, carrying naloxone, supporting recovery, and sharing resources, we can help save lives and strengthen Mississippi.

Together, we stand up for one another. Together, we stand up for Mississippi.
