🚨 BREAKING NEWS 🚨

Jackson PD has officially discovered that our officers are… kids at heart. 😂🎄

Sure, we drive police cars, carry radios, write reports, and occasionally tell people to slow down…but give us a chance to have some fun and suddenly we're right back in elementary school fighting over who gets to be first. 😂

Now we need your help.

❤️ DONATE = VOTE

Your donation helps Jackson PD compete in the Photo COPetition AND helps provide gift cards to officers so we can assist people in need throughout the community.

That's a pretty good deal:
You get to laugh at our picture.
We get bragging rights.
Someone in need gets a helping hand.

Everybody wins. ❤️ except Clintonville Police Department

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️COYOTE ENCOUNTER GUIDANCE⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Jackson Police Department has received several reports of coyote activity throughout the Village. While coyotes are a common part of Wisconsin's wildlife, residents may report nuisance coyote activity to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.

To make a report, contact the DNR Wildlife Switchboard at:

📧 [email protected]
📞 (608) 267-0866

Please leave a message that includes:

• The number of animals observed
• The species observed
• The behavior you witnessed
• The specific location, including the county
• Your contact information

Jackson is surrounded by forests, marshlands, and farmland, all of which provide suitable habitat for coyotes. Seeing a coyote is not unusual and, by itself, is generally not a cause for concern.

However, if you encounter a coyote that is behaving unusually, appears sick, or shows little fear of people, you should take steps to scare it away. Effective hazing techniques include:

• Yelling and making loud noises
• Shaking or throwing cans filled with coins
• Throwing sticks or other objects toward (not at) the animal
• Spraying the coyote with water
• Using an air horn or ultrasonic animal deterrent

These actions help reinforce a coyote's natural fear of humans and discourage it from remaining in residential areas.

Residents should also help reduce attractants by securing garbage, feeding pets indoors when possible, and avoiding leaving pet food or other food sources outside.

Jackson PD and Westbury Bank have teamed up for another Fraud Awareness Seminar on October 21st, 2026 at from 6-7pm, at the Jackson Area Community Center.

Everyone is welcome to join; you do not have to be a Village resident to attend. As a matter of fact, please bring a friend or family member! The more people who know how to spot a scam, the better!

❤️ Your vote can become a helping hand. Here is a story of how some of the gift cards were used and what it meant to the person and what it meant to Lt. Foeger. This will be a long post, but worth it. To protect the privacy of the person, their name and some details were omitted.

Lt. Foerger was made aware a resident had received a terminal cancer diagnosis after successfully beating cancer previously. Working in a community like Jackson, we get to know and develop friendships with people that live here. Lt. Foeger and this guy became friends over the years. Lt. Foeger went to visit him. They talked about the recent diagnosis and how it caused the guy to lose his job. Lt. Foeger wanted to help any way he could. He gave the guy several gift cards from the Police Lights of Christmas program to help get him through the difficult time.

A few months later, the guy was transported to the hospital and he knew the end was near. He called Lt. Foeger, who went to visit him in the hospital and they were able to say their goodbyes. A couple of days later, the guy passed away after putting up a heck of a fight against cancer.

Lt. Foeger later said: "During that moment, it gave the guy something which he really appreciated after he lost his job and health care benefits. This is one of those moments in my career that I will not forget... "

The Police Lights Of Christmas Photo COPetition is about more than funny police photos and a little friendly competition. The money raised is turned into gift cards that we can use to help people who are going through difficult times and who could use a reason to smile. It also means so much to us to be able to give a little hope, a little ray of sunshine, to others who could use it.

Sometimes that might mean helping a family who has experienced a tragedy. Sometimes it might mean helping someone who doesn't have enough for a warm meal, groceries, or an unexpected expense. Sometimes it is someone who is just having a bad day.

This program gives them another way to say, “We see you. We're here for you. You're not alone.” ❤️

So if you're willing, please make a donation to the Jackson PD photo. Every dollar is a vote, every vote helps make a difference, every vote helps Jackson.

The 4th Annual Police Lights Of Christmas Charity Photo COPetition officially started yesterday. Jackson PD is competing with 20 other departments this year and we need your help to get votes! This year's theme was "Officers are kids at heart" and we went with a Toy Story theme.

The Photo Cop-etition is pretty simple, the department who gets the most votes wins. Each vote costs $1 and all of the donations collected are turned into gift cards that officers can give to help others in need of a little kindness. Most importantly, all of the votes that are donated for Jackson PD, stay right here in the Jackson Community. Voting ends at the end of the month. So for the next couple weeks, we will share some stories of how we have used last year's gift cards to help others.

To vote for Jackson, follow this link: https://police-lights-of-christmas.square.site/?utm_id=97758_v0_s00_e0_tv2_a1demo0ec2m3ov&fbclid=IwY2xjawUsq5xleHRuA2FlbQIxMABwZG9mAWJyaWQRMVlMdU8xaHFyZEhMQ2p5dk9zcnRjBmFwcF9pZBAyMjIwMzkxNzg4MjAwODkyAAEe4IFHwaeZ7zUkikN65C1AwBtWqGNfHvl5PeF4WqrxkD_0opydwUycSP8AJ6M_aem_A4QzUkd5zghbL8a4lR5aeA
