🦯 October 15 is White Cane Safety Day!
The white cane is more than a mobility tool. It represents independence, confidence, and freedom for individuals who are blind or have low vision.
Each year, White Cane Safety Day reminds us of the importance of recognizing the rights, achievements, and independence of individuals who are blind or have low vision, while encouraging greater awareness of white cane users and their safety in our communities.
At the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services (MDRS), our Office of Vocational Rehabilitation for the Blind (VRB) is proud to support opportunities for greater independence.
