A Child Advocacy Center is designed to be a safe, child-friendly environment where children, who have been the victims of physical or sexual abuse, can talk about the trauma they have experienced and begin the healing process. Law enforcement officials, the District Attorney’s Office, Juvenile Court, the Department of Children’s Services and other agencies who are involved in the investigation, prosecution and treatment of child abuse cases all come together as a cohesive unit to work for the child’s best interests. The first thing you will notice about our Advocacy Centers is how much they look like homes instead of office or clinical settings. This is done so that the child does not feel threatened by his or her surroundings; thus, the focus can be on the healing process rather than the unfamiliar environment. The Advocacy Center allows each child’s needs to remain the focal point of the process, rather than transporting the child from agency to agency for the grueling process of discovery, medical exams and treatment.

The holidays are just around the corner, and for many of the families we serve, a little extra support can make a big difference. 💙

We’re collecting donations of canned and non-perishable foods, diapers, toiletries, and other everyday essentials to help provide support to children and families throughout the holiday season and beyond.

These may seem like small things, but they can help ease a little stress and remind a family that their community cares. If you’re able to give, we’d be grateful for your support!

No, not jingle bells quite yet. Although Christmas is getting closer every day and you know what that means- Festival of Trees!

The most festive winter wonderland that showcases dozens of unique Christmas trees- Festival of Trees is a community staple. Each tree is competing to raise the most money for the Carl Perkins Center and are eligible for several other awards as well. Festival of Trees is a great event that encompasses the season of giving, community creativity, and friendly competition.

We are looking for tree entries- you can't have a festival of trees without trees! Everyone can participate- schools, churches, businesses, organizations, families/individuals. We want YOU to get involved!
