As we close out another week, I want to extend my sincere appreciation to the men and women of the Jackson Fire Department for your continued dedication, professionalism, and commitment to serving the citizens of Jackson. Thank you to our firefighters who answered the calls for service, responded to emergencies, and continued to put the needs of others before your own. Your service does not go unnoticed, and I am grateful for the work you do each and every day.
This week also reminded us of the importance of keeping our department family in prayer. We ask God for complete healing, strength, and a speedy recovery for those who were injured. May He continue to cover our personnel, protect our families, and give us the wisdom and strength to carry out our mission safely.
We also had a great week of public relations and community engagement, educating our citizens on fire safety and strengthening the relationships that make our department and community stronger. Thank you to everyone who represented the Jackson Fire Department with pride and professionalism. We remain committed to supporting Mayor John Horhn’s vision for our city, and we appreciate the leadership and continued support that help us move Jackson forward.
A few important reminders for the weekend:
* Burn Ban: A burn ban is in effect. Please do not conduct outdoor burning. Help us protect our neighborhoods, property, and first responders by following all applicable burn restrictions.
* JSU Homecoming: Enjoy the Jackson State University Homecoming weekend and its many events. Celebrate responsibly, look out for one another, and make safety a priority.
* Cooler Temperatures: As temperatures begin to drop, please dress appropriately, use heating equipment safely, and ensure smoke alarms are working properly.
As you enjoy your weekend, please take time to rest, reconnect with your families, and recharge for the work ahead. Whether you are on duty or off duty, continue to represent our department with integrity, respect, and professionalism.
Let us remain united in our purpose, committed to our people, and faithful to the mission God has placed before us.
Have a safe, blessed, and enjoyable weekend!
God first, and to God be the Glory! 🙏🏾
