Got leaves, branches and grass clippings to clear out before the snow sets in? Fall Clean Up is back, and your clean yard waste will become compost right here in the valley.

Residents have two free drop-off options, with different schedules: the Trash Transfer Station runs Oct. 31–Nov. 7 (first 500 pounds per household), while the Rodeo Grounds is Friday, Nov. 6 ONLY.

Don't forget that yard waste can be brought to the Trash Transfer Station for composting year round for about 5 cents a pound (minimum fee $10 a load). So if you don't want to wait until Fall Clean Up week, it's still more cost effective to compost than to throw it away with trash!

Keep the cardboard coming, Jackson! 📦♻️Last year, Teton County saved about 33,000 trees through cardboard recycling. And don't forget to help make room for everyone’s haul by flattening your boxes before dropping them off. Our crew, and your fellow recyclers, appreciate it! 😸

Recycling just 10 plastic bottles saves enough energy to power a laptop for more than 25 hours, according to the EPA. Thanks, Jackson, for keeping those water (and b**r) bottles in circulation! The Jackson Hole News&Guide follows the containers after last week’s boil order. 👇

Those water bottles from the boil order? We’d love to see the empties here next. 👀♻️

Bring your empty #1 plastic water bottles to any Teton County community recycling site. We’ll sort and bale them here, then ship the roughly 1,000-pound bales to a recycling distributor, such as in Logan, Utah, for the next step in their recycling journey.

From there, recycled PET can become new bottles, fleece, carpet and more.
