A burn ban has been implemented across Duval County, effective immediately. In alignment with surrounding counties, Naval Station Mayport is enforcing this restriction due to heightened fire danger and persistent dry conditions.
All open flame activities, including bonfires, campfires, and fire pit usage, are strictly prohibited in base housing areas, recreational spaces, and the RV Park.
Outdoor cooking and grilling are permissible only when continuously attended and conducted in a safe manner.
These restrictions apply to all residents, contractors, guests, and RV Park patrons. Base Security and the Fire Department will actively enforce these restrictions, and all leadership is advised to ensure personnel are briefed on these measures.
It is essential to remain vigilant and report any uncontained fire immediately by dialing 911.

Please join us in congratulating FF Craig Mahone on successfully passing his NREMT Paramedic to become a nationally licensed Paramedic. This morning Chief Brown presented FF Mahone with his first NREMT-P patch to commemorate this significant accomplishment. The Paramedic Program is a year long program that requires dedication, sacrifice, and discipline to successfully complete and we are excited to see what the future holds!
