A lot of people don't realize that tuition-free colleges actually exist in the U.S. and many of them are big-name schools like NYU, Harvard, and MIT.

But here's the catch most families miss: "free tuition" does NOT mean "free college."

You can still be on the hook for $10,000–$20,000+ a year in room, board, books, and other costs. That's a huge gap that catches families off guard.

We put together a full list of tuition-free colleges (including some community college programs across 33+ states), plus what to watch out for before assuming the price tag is really $0. Worth a read if you or someone you know is planning for college 👇

Greetings Duval MYcroSchool families

For those of you who are new and returning students and families, we welcome you!

There is information in the Google Classroom Virtual Orientation about the Student Handbook for 2526 posted on our website, Acceptable Technology Use Policy, Code of Conduct, School Uniform, and school safety information. Parents and students need to ensure that students leave the school no later than 15 minutes after dismissal. Students are still being left at the school until well after 3:30pm, and that is unacceptable. When students are not picked up or do not ride the bus and are left up at the school in an unsafe situation, the school has to report it to DCF. We are small and do not have the manpower or budget to pay staff to stay late waiting for students to be picked up. Please make transportation arrangements in advance and plan for severe weather and traffic conditions. We appreciate your efforts!

Additionally, all communications will go on the school’s Band app. For questions about virtual orientation and the Band app, please email Mr. Booth, Mrs. Waters, or Mr. McDonald at [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected]:

Teachers are the first point of contact for issues and concerns. Ensure your student knows who their advisory teacher is. This person is found on their schedule. Teacher emails are listed on www.duvalmycroschool.org. The advisory teacher will support them through their educational journey in addition to the other staff at Duval MYcroSchool.

Parents, please make sure your students are not coming to school with v**es and ma*****na. I will not be allowing any snacks or unsealed drinks in the school due to students hiding contraband and illegal substances. Students are now not allowed to wear facemasks unless they have a doctor’s note because some students are using it to hide v**e smoke in the classrooms. Furthermore, students are sneaking illegal substances into the school and distributing it to other students without disclosing that it is tainted. This is why we cannot risk doing any more dress-down days. Please support us in keeping the school safe by reading the code of conduct posted on our website in the student handbook and encouraging your student not to accept any food or drink from anyone, except for their reward snacks from the principal.

AM students go from 8:30am-1:34pm, and PM students attend at 9:46am-2:50pm. Please make note of early dismissal days as we do follow the district calendar, but due to testing and other academic functions, we have more early dismissal days. BOTH SHIFTS attend from 8:30am-1:34pm on early dismissal days. Please see our school calendar posted on our website and social media. Students will not be allowed in if they are more than fifteen minutes tardy for school. This policy is in our student handbook on our website and in the Virtual Orientation classroom.

Directions to receive Edmentum progress reports for your student are posted on the school’s website. The document is titled Edmentum Sensei for Courseware Families. If you registered using the directions on our website and don’t see a progress report, let us know, or check your junk mail.
