3am update. Tide is going out. Some lines stretching out but all boats are currently looking good. Wind gust have been pretty strong. Light rain and we are ina. Little bit of a lull right now between bands. All boats out on anchor look good from what we can see.

Milton 10/10/24 2:30am. Walked the dock and all is looking good for now. Tide is pretty high and waves are coming over some portions of the dock towards the end. All boats currently are looking secure. High tide in 15 more minutes so hopefully the water will fall some before the wind picks up in the morning.

Please stop buying your dock lines at Harbor freight. 350lb break strength is not going to hold your boat.

Milton is now a major Cat 5 hurricane with sustained winds of 175mph. We cannot stress this enough, this is the real deal, wind will be out of the NE, and are the worst possible direction for us. We are advising everyone that can get off the dock, to get off and anchor out. If you choose to stay, you must double or triple your lines. SAILBOATS: please remove all sails or lash down extra-well to prevent any accidental unfurlings. All hands on deck!!

Time to prep whether you want to or not. Unfortunately for us this isn’t just for practice.

We need you to take care of your boats and lines. We will be here to assist in any way possible.

(Hurricane) Milton is projected to make landfall Wednesday, I know we just went through this last week, but please come BACK out and check any lines for wear, replace anything that looks questionable, double everything you can. If you plan to go out on anchor, the sooner the better! If you can’t make it out, please make arrangements with someone in town to check on everything. Stay tuned for updates as we can get them out. If you have questions, please call the office.
