TRAFFIC ADVISORY: The Shands Bridge is temporarily closed due to a barge striking the structure. Motorists are encouraged to monitor FL511 for updates and may use the Buckman Bridge as an alternate route across the St. Johns River.
Out of an abundance of caution, bridge inspectors are onsite conducting a thorough assessment. The bridge will reopen as soon as it is inspected and deemed safe for travel.

Pop into Downtown Jax this 4th of July for the largest Independence Day fireworks the city has ever seen! Public parking and fireworks viewing areas are noted on the map below. Plan ahead and come early to make your holiday launch smooth!
