Join us in congratulating FF Tucker Miller on completing his Firefighter certification. On Wednesday our 2 1/2 yr veteran of Rhodestown VFD and US Marine Corps veteran joined his fellow classmates after completing a 3 month day time fire academy at Coastal Carolina Community College. FF Miller was awarded the colleague award by his peers for his motivation and performance. FF Miller is currently enrolled in EMT and looks forward to obtaining his TR Swiftwater certification too. FF Miller recently started working at Cleveland Fire Department in Clayton, NC. Please help us congratulate him on his hard work and dedication to his community and department.

⛈️ There is a severe storm threat today (9/5/26). Most of the state is under a Level 2 Threat. Storms may be strong to severe later this afternoon and tonight. Have multiple ways to be informed. Where storms develop, we could see damaging winds, hail, and downpours causing flash flooding.

🔥🌵 And… it’s still hot hot hot out today. Dangerous heat is expected in many areas across the state.

Several communities saw power outages, trees down, and storm water flooding last night. Be aware. Have a plan.

Stay safe today and enjoy your weekend. Hopefully you are cooking something tasty and spending some time with good people.
