The U.S. Navy’s Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) has launched two related pilot programs aimed at expanding the quality and variety of food to which Sailors have access and improving their holistic wellness.
The U.S. Navy is in the process of expanding the amount of grab-and-go food stations at shore-based installations and implementing changes that will make those options accessible all day.
Sailors stationed at Naval Base Kitsap, Wash., and Naval Construction Battalion Center Gulfport, Miss., will now have access to a wider variety of food options as part of the Navy’s efforts to improve sailor quality of life.

Congratulations to Naval Station Mayport. Their team was awarded a top US Navy Public Affairs Award on May 13 in the Community Outreach category for its outstanding School Liaison Program.
The Navy’s School Liaison Program helps service members and their families navigate between school transfers and supports students during moves between schools, connects educators with the Navy Deployment Support System, and serves installation commanders as subject-matter experts on K-12 concerns.
