Very Proud of the way our Officers and staff responded to this incident.
On the morning of September 25, 2026, at Jacksonville High School, it was reported that a fi***rm was on campus. JHS staff responded quickly and immediately, confiscated the fi***rm, and the campus was placed on HOLD. The administration handled the situation effectively, following established safety protocols. Additional JISD law enforcement responded immediately. The campus is no longer on HOLD and classes have resumed.
Parents and staff were alerted immediately through ParentSquare.
At this time, there is no active threat, and all students and staff are safe.
We understand that situations like this can be concerning for parents and the community. Our safety protocols are designed to prioritize securing the campus and protecting the safety of all students and staff before communication is shared, while also communicating updates as quickly as possible.
Our safety systems, protocols, and the quick actions of our staff worked as intended to protect our campus and ensure that all students and staff remained safe. While we are proud of this response, JISD will continue to evaluate and enhance our policies and procedures to ensure we are always taking every opportunity to strengthen the safety of our students and staff.
