Giving out books to trick-or-treaters who visit our neighborhood on Edgewood (in Jacksonville, FL) has become a Halloween tradition. Last year, I was able to share 788 books thanks to donations and bargain hunting. I currently have just over 500 books so I’m making one last plea for donations. If you have gently used children’s books you’d like to contribute, please reach out, and I will come pick them up from you. 🎃 📚 👻

Want to find your bookish community but don’t want the commitment of required reading? A Book Swap is the perfect compromise! Instead of choosing a book for us all to read and discuss, our Third Thursday Book Swap meets monthly to discuss what each of us is reading and to share books. It’s super informal and a great way to get recommendations for what to read next and bond with fellow readers. 10/10 recommend starting a book swap! 📚

Another summer in the books at the Jacksonville Public Library! 📚 Join us at one (or more) of our Summer Wrap Up parties to celebrate the end of summer and turn in reading trackers for a free book. 🦕📚🦖 And every child who attends will receive a free book to add to their home library while supplies last, so your child could leave with more than one book. The Main Library Children’s party is Wednesday, August 5th 3-4:00, and our Teen party is the same day 6-7:00. Hope to see you there!
