RAP's mission is to preserve, enhance, and celebrate Riverside Avondale's historic fabric, arts & culture, local businesses, and public spaces.

Our mission is simple: Preserve this community. Not just the old homes and buildings, but also the beautiful parks and tree-lined streets, historic commercial corridors and vibrant cultural and business institutions. We are also proud to serve as the presenting organization for Riverside Arts Market! We are committed to protecting the sense of place and human scale that define the Riverside Avondale Historic District. If that’s your vision too, join us!

Love historic homes? Curious about what’s really happening in today’s market? Join us for the first Porchlight Series of the season presented by Cowford Realty & Design and J. Riley Williams PLC on June 11 for an evening of insider tips, local expertise, and conversation with some of Jacksonville’s top historic-home real estate professionals. It’s free, open to the public, includes refreshments and light bites courtesy of Bartaco—but space is limited, so be sure to RSVP at https://riversideavondale.org/event/porchlight-series-june-11-2026/

We did it! Thanks to the generosity of our community, RAP’s month-long Preservation Matters campaign exceeded its $5,000 goal. Thank you to all of you who contributed, and special gratitude to CovingtonAlsina for providing the $500 starter gift! We’re grateful to be part of a community that believes preservation matters.

As our community gathers with family, friends, and neighbors this Memorial Day weekend, may we never lose sight of the sacrifice behind the freedoms we enjoy each day. Let us always appreciate those freedoms while honoring the people who made them possible.

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend!

Now entering the Little Local Box is Jacksonville photographer Beth Leitzke of Elizabeth Anne Photography!

Beth specializes in photography for creatives, makers, chefs, designers, and product-based businesses, with a focus on the process behind the work — not just the finished product. Her photographs feel thoughtful and deeply observant, capturing small details and moments that tell a story. As Beth puts it, she wants people to not just see what someone makes, but understand why what they make matters.

A small, hand-selected collection of Beth’s work - postcards, keychains and magnets - is now available in the Little Local Box at the Buckland House!
