Congratulations to Legalman First Class Veronica Lockett for being selected Naval Legal Service Command’s 2025 Sailor of the Year!!!

Assigned to RLSO Southeast BROFF Corpus Christi, LN1 Lockett stepped into the critically important role of Legal Assistance Department Leading Chief Petty Officer for seven months. Exhibiting outstanding leadership and expertise, she led a team of 38 Sailors and 21 civilians, with her direct mentorship resulting in accolades for her team from awards and recognition to qualifications and educational achievements!

**ATTENTION TO AWARD**

Legalman Second Class Ricardo Adler was recognized by Commanding Officer, Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay for his key role in ensuring seamless delivery of legal services to the installation during a period of reduced manpower from October to November of last year. This award of the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal acknowledges LN2 Adler’s initiative, professional expertise, and dedication to duty. Bravo Zulu LN2!

Earlier this week, RLSO Southeast Det. Gulf Coast had the honor of hosting Major General Bligh, Judge Advocate General of the Navy. During the visit, the Major General had the opportunity to attend a Legalman luncheon in Pensacola. As the largest detachment in RLSO Southeast, the team showcased the critical role Legalmen play in delivering timely, mission-focused legal support to the Fleet.

Last week, CAPT Dominic Antenucci, Commanding Officer of RLSO Southeast, visited Naval Air Station Key West to engage with the Sailors and leadership supporting one of the Navy’s premier tactical aviation training hubs.

The visit reinforced RLSO Southeast’s commitment to delivering timely, mission-focused legal support that enables operational readiness and strengthens the Navy’s warfighting capability across the Fleet.

Today, we bid a heartfelt farewell to Mr. Paul Threatt as he departs from RLSO Southeast. Mr. Threatt's dedication and professionalism have been a great asset to our command during his service as Subject Matter Expert for the Legal Assistance Department at NAS Jacksonville. We extend our sincere gratitude for his contributions to the mission and his support to our Sailors and their families. Join us in wishing him the very best in his future endeavors. Last month, CAPT Dominic Antenucci, Commanding Officer of RLSO Southeast, traveled to Texas for meetings with Sailors and staff from branch offices Corpus Christi, Kingsville, and Fort Worth. This visit highlights the vital role legal support plays in readiness and mission success.

These installations are central to joint operations and naval aviation training, and RLSO Southeast remains committed to providing timely, mission-focused legal services in direct support of the Fleet and the Sailors who serve it.

LCDR Sarah Burkett, Officer in Charge of Detachment Gulf Coast, was selected for the Leadership Award, recognizing her exceptional leadership and driving Fleet and Sailor readiness across the Gulf Coast.

LT Amanda Donnelly was selected as Junior Officer of the Year for leading RLSO Southeast’s Legal Assistance team and delivering innovative programs that strengthened support to Sailors and families.

LT James “Jimbo” Weaver was selected as Legal Assistance Attorney of the Year, celebrating his outstanding client service, meaningful results, and mentorship across the department.

Bravo Zulu to all three for their incredible professionalism, excellence, and impact on our Fleet and families!

Fair winds and following seas to LT Ryan Morris as he successfully completes his tour at RLSO Southeast. LT Morris was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal in recognition of his outstanding service as NAS Jacksonville Staff Judge Advocate. His exceptional contributions to RLSO Southeast will be missed, and we wish him continued success in his next assignment!

Last week, RLSO Southeast personnel volunteered at Jacksonville National Cemetery during the annual wreath laying ceremony to honor our nation’s fallen heroes this holiday season. We are grateful for their service and sacrifice and proud to help ensure they are never forgotten.

Last month, RLSO Southeast came together at headquarters onboard NAS Jacksonville to share a Thanksgiving potluck and enjoy time with one another. Grateful for the chance to connect as a command, we are especially thankful for our shipmates—both those celebrating at home and those serving at sea.

During Hurricane Melissa, the RLSO Southeast team demonstrated exceptional dedication and responsiveness. From facilitating the safe movement of 850 personnel and nearly 100 pets off Naval Station Guantanamo Bay to providing critical legal support, accountability, and EFAC assistance in Pensacola, RLSO SE delivered 24/7 aid where it was needed most. A special thank you to LT Ferreiras, LT Skaff, LT Stalder, LN1 White, the rest of the Pensacola team, and all those who supported claims processing, airlift operations, and care for displaced families. Your outstanding efforts made a real difference!
