📣 Is This A Tax Increase?

Is the renewal of the 1-mill a tax increase?

No. It is not an increase. It is a continuation.
The 1 mill is the same as what Duval County voters approved in 2022. If renewed, it would continue for another four years and help restore funding lost from other sources.

The 1 mill must be renewed by voters every four years to remain in effect.

A heartfelt thank you to all of the parents and families who joined us tonight for our Built for Brilliance: Open House! It was truly a pleasure to welcome you into our school, fellowship with you, and strengthen the partnership between home and school.

At BTSA, we know that educating a scholar is a team effort. We are honored that you have entrusted us to be a part of your scholar’s village, and we do not take that responsibility lightly. Together, we are building scholars who are prepared to succeed, soar, and accomplish what once seemed impossible! 💙💛

💙💛 Congratulations to our very own Kim Possible, Mrs. Laney Williams, BTSA Elementary & Middle School’s 2026–2027 Teacher of the Year! 🦅🏆

Mrs. Williams serves as our phenomenal Civics educator, and the impact of her instruction speaks for itself. Under her leadership in the classroom, Civics proficiency increased by more than 14 percentage points! That incredible growth is a reflection of her commitment to high quality instruction, her belief in our scholars, and her determination to help every student succeed.

But Mrs. Williams’ impact extends far beyond the data. Her bright smile, sweet spirit, positive energy, and genuine love for our scholars make her an invaluable part of the BTSA family. She brings joy into the building while maintaining high expectations and reminding our scholars that they are capable of achieving great things.

Mrs. Williams truly embodies what it means to make the Mission Possible! 💙💛
