Rotary Club of San Jose

San Jose Rotary Club is involved in the local community on various levels volunteering time for many worthy causes.

Established in 2003, The Rotary Club of San Jose provides civic-minded business and professional men and women with an enjoyable and organized way to make a contribution to Jacksonville and to needy areas of the world. We also have fundraisers throughout the year, including a golf tournament and a charity auction. The money is donated to several organizations at our annual "Night of Giving."

To let you know a friend and I this week set up this Facebook Irma Evacuation community support group for people to contact people in our region that are opening homes and businesses with rooms /spaces in their homes to offer to people evacuating Hurricane Irma. It has grown to about 600 members and now includes people offering spaces in western North Carolina, south west Virginia, Georgia and across our entire region.
With many offers and supporting all kinds of needs. Pets, kid friendly. Even pastures for horses etc.

If you or anyone you know needs space please reach out, use the group or you can contact me directly and I will find rooms for you.
I have 4-5 folks working with me to coordinate, including some of my staff.
I have a family with me from South Florida and Charleston, SC that are evacuating, but we can make room for more if need be.

Pleased to say people from Florida are using it as a resource and finding it useful in securing shelter support in our region.
