AmeriCorps Duval Reads created at Communities In Schools Jax since 1999. Carolyn Lynn has served as Director since 2002. This program serves K.9 grade.
To fulfill our mission, we operate programs in four major areas: literacy; after-school; mentoring; and case management programs that reach 6,600 students in 60 local schools.

Last week on Saturday our AmeriCorps team lost one of God's angels, loaned to us for just a little while!
Nycole Brandon only 22, died of a heart attack on December 5th 2015. Nicole was a wonderful person and loved by so many! She was an outstanding AmeriCorps tutor at Mayport Middle school, I'm certain I can speak for all of the AmeriCorps members, teachers and the students she served, we will miss Nycole's infectious smile and loving presence in our lives!
Rest In Peace Nycole, I will never forget you and will cherish your memories alway's!
