CAPE (Child Abuse Prevention Education)

Help your child discover the special "something" they have to share with the world. Who knows, you might just have a future CEO, govenor or Nobel Peace prize winner right in front of you!

The 2009-10 school year is just about over. The CAPE Project will be very busy this summer getting ready for the 2010-11 school year kickoff in August. While you and your children enjoy the sun, vacation and summer fun, set aside some time everyday to let your child know they are special to you.

The CAPE project is available to public and private schools in the Jacksonville, Florida area. The CAPE project is for all parents who are interested in fun learning and making activities to help build their relationships with their children. It's a great way to build a school's PTA/PTO involvement!

Parents made a "Talking Bag" so that they can have a special time with each of their children.

We had a wonderful time at Pinedale Elementary making Talking Bags with the parents. The group was very engaged and talkative. I really enjoyed their interaction with the project and each other. Way to go Pinedale Parents!

When you go to the grocery store, you have a purpose - to get food and supplies for your house. To help eliminate tantrums, give your child a purpose for going to the store, as well. By supplying your child with pictures of items, or a shopping list to check off, they have a purpose for being there and you are teaching skills to help your child become responsible members of your household.
