Congratulations, Ms. Katy Lambert, who named as 2021 Teacher of the Year from Southside Estates Elementary School! We are so proud of you! Below is her message:

"I have been teaching first grade since I began my teaching career after leaving JU in 2016. I LOVE it! First grade is full of learning new skills; learning how to read, how to add and subtract, and so much more! First grade is a year of so much growth and I am so thankful to get to be a part of it for the students I teach each year. I learn what I learned during my time at JU, daily! This year I am learning something totally new and providing online instruction for my schools first grade Duval Homeroom students. It has been challenging at times, and in a really hard time for so many I am happy to provide some sort of stability for my 29 students. I am so thankful to get to do what I love and was created for!"

Meet Dolphin Educator Joelle Angarola M. Ed. '17. Angarola served 27 months in Rwanda with the Peace Corps.

"One of the most interesting parts of my service in Rwanda was that I couldn't use the majority of teaching strategies I had previous learned, but adapted versions. I used the skills I learned mixed with the resources available to me in Rwanda to create a unique learning and teaching experience for me and my students."
