In Jenkins County, more than 1 in 4 children face food insecurity.

During the summer months, when school cafeterias close, many families lose access to a reliable source of daily meals. That’s why ECS4Kids is proud to serve as a distribution hub for Golden Harvest Food Bank, helping bring nutritious food directly to the families who need it most.

The need was evident on day one. More than 150 vehicles came through the distribution, and over 15,000 pounds of food were provided to families.

Thanks to the incredible support of student volunteers from Jenkins County High School’s JROTC, trunks, backseats, and even golf carts were filled with nutritious food destined for homes throughout the community.

Together with Golden Harvest, volunteers, and community partners, we’re helping ensure children and families have access to the nourishment they need all summer long.

Q: What’s the last thing you did just for the fun of it?

For children, fun is more than entertainment. It’s one of the most powerful ways they learn. Through play, children build problem-solving skills, strengthen social and emotional development, improve language and communication, and develop the creativity and confidence they need to thrive.

Active parent involvement makes these experiences even more meaningful. When parents join in, encourage exploration, and take an active role in their child’s learning and development, they help reinforce important skills and create stronger connections between learning, play, and family.

At ECS4Kids’ Fun in the Sun Day, our children spent the day laughing, exploring, moving, and making memories with friends. From Zumba and face painting to bubbles and snow cones to keep cool, every moment was filled with opportunities to learn through play while celebrating the joy of childhood.

Because when children are given the freedom to play, they’re also building the foundation for future success.

Learning about safety isn’t limited to a classroom. Sometimes the best lessons happen through play, exploration & hands-on experiences.

At Pop Up Safety Town & Safe Kids Day, children & families had the opportunity to learn important life-saving skills through interactive activities focused on pedestrian safety, water safety, dog bite prevention, fire & home safety & more.

ECS4Kids’ Child Wellness Team was proud to join a dedicated group of community partners working together to create a safer, healthier future for children. A HUGE THANK YOU to the AAA Foundation for funding this important event & to all the organizations that helped bring safety education to life for local families.

When communities come together, we create environments where children can learn & grow safely.

1 out of 10 of the kids in our program have a diagnosed disability.

Physical activity plays an important role in helping toddlers build strong bodies, healthy brains & lifelong habits.

That’s why ECS4Kids was excited to partner with Special Olympics Florida for a fun-filled relay day at our centers, where our children stayed active, worked together & built confidence through games, movement & teamwork.

And just as a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly, so must our head start students fly away to their next adventure as kindergartners; taking with them the lessons and love they received from their foundational years at ECS4Kids.

We’re so proud of their accomplishments and thank the staff who poured so much into them and the parents that partnered with us!

Color the Future was everything we hoped it would be: joyful, creative, interactive, and rooted in purpose.

As part of ECS4Kids’ year-long 60th anniversary celebration, our community came together for an unforgettable evening filled with color, connection, dancing, storytelling, live art, and generosity. From the scavenger hunt and history walk to guests helping complete a live art piece by youth artist Zende Randolph, every moment reflected the creativity and heart that lives inside ECS4Kids classrooms every day.

Most importantly, the night reminded us why this work matters: every child deserves a strong start and all families deserve a supportive village.

Thank you to every guest, sponsor, volunteer, donor, and community partner who helped make this sold-out celebration such a success. We are honored to continue celebrating 60 years of impact while building an even brighter future for the children and families we serve 🎨✨

For 60 years, ECS4Kids has stood beside families during life’s transitions through mission-focused HEARTwork 💙

Throughout 2026, we’re sharing 60 years of impact in 60 seconds or less — stories of strength, resilience & new beginnings.

Hear from a parent who came to Florida during a difficult transition & is grateful for the support ECS4Kids provided her family & the direct impact we’re having on her sons 🥹

In Florida, more than 800,000 children are experiencing food insecurity. That means far too many little learners are trying to grow their minds & bodies without consistent access to the nutrition they need.

At ECS4Kids, we know that children cannot fully focus on learning when they’re hungry. While we proudly provide balanced meals & snacks to children in our classrooms each day at no cost, supporting families holistically means extending that care beyond our centers & into their homes.

That’s why we are so grateful for our new partnership with Nemours Children’s Health & Hunger Fight to provide monthly food distributions for families at our Brentwood center!

This partnership is more than food. It’s dignity. It’s support. It’s community. And it’s another step toward ensuring our children have the nourishment they need to learn, develop & dream bigger for their futures!

Thank you to Nemours & Hunger Fight for standing with ECS4Kids & the families we serve 💙🧡💚🩷💜
