Busy morning for Firefighters of First Coast Navy Fire & Emergency Services. Just before 10 am, T131, "Yorktown Express", responded to assist Orange Park Fire Department and Clay County Fire Rescue with a residential structure fire. Upon being released, T131 responded for an EMS call in the Town of Orange Park. Shortly after, T131, responded with Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department, for a motor vehicle accident on Roosevelt Blvd near I295. FCNF&ES are always ready to respond onboard NAS Jacksonville and to assist our mutual aid partners, Orange Park Firefighters Local 2668 and Clay County Professional Firefighters.

Today, Fire Chief Mark Brusoe had the honor of promoting Firefighters of First Coast Navy Fire & Emergency Services newest Lt. Jason Lynn. Lt. Lynn has been with FCNF&ES for 16 years. Prior to his start in 2010, Lt. Lynn served in the United States Army. He also served 6 years with the Florida National Guard. Lt. Lynn is now assigned to Station 2, Group 4, NAS Jacksonville. Best of luck with your new position!

This afternoon, Firefighters of First Coast Navy Fire & Emergency Services C101, R172, and T131, responded to the area of Roosevelt Blvd, near the Target shopping plaza to assist Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department with an MVA with entrapment. R172 transported one patient. Unfortunately, two other patients passed away from their injuries.

Yesterday, Firefighters of First Coast Navy Fire & Emergency Services FF Vance Phillips participated in a karaoke contest at the NAS Jacksonville Commissary. FF Phillips placed 2nd, however, with one of the judges being Fire Chief Mark Brusoe, we believe points may have been deducted to not show favoritism 😉

Yesterday, Firefighters of First Coast Navy Fire & Emergency Services responded to a reported vehicle fire. R172 arrived and reported a fully involved vehicle. E121 arrived seconds later and had water on the fire within 30 seconds. No injuries were reported. Additionally, over the last two weeks, T131 assisted JFRD with two separate residential fires, 5100 block of Pirates Cove and the 6000 block of Davon St. R172 has also been getting their fair share of transports, on and off base, assisting our mutual aid partners.
