The Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program helps schools create safer, more accessible routes for students to walk and bike to school by addressing barriers like missing sidewalks, poor infrastructure, and limited opportunities for active transportation.

We’re excited to see these SRTS-funded projects moving into construction over the next two years:
🔹 Yulee Elementary Sidewalk — Construction begins in 2027
🔹 Hogan-Spring Glen Elementary Sidewalks — Construction begins in 2027
🔹 San Jose Elementary Sidewalks — Construction begins in 2028

🛣️ The North Florida TPO is developing the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for FY 2026/27–2030/31, covering bike, pedestrian, highway, transit, port, and aviation projects across Clay, Duval, Nassau, and St. Johns counties. Review the draft TIP and share your thoughts.

The North Florida TPO released our draft Transportation Improvement Program for 2027–2031 — a 5-year blueprint for how hundreds of millions in federal and state transportation dollars will be spent in our region.

What's on the list? 🌉 Bridge repairs & replacements on I-95, I-295, Heckscher Drive, SR-13, CR-217 and more 🛣️ Interstate improvements along I-95 and I-295 corridors 🚌 Transit projects through JTA and St. Johns County Council on Aging ✈️ Aviation & port upgrades in Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties 🔧 Resurfacing of major roads like Atlantic Blvd, Beach Blvd, Blanding Blvd, A1A and SR 16.
