🚒 Jacksonville Fire Department Responds to Commercial Electrical Fire

The Jacksonville Fire Department responded at approximately 6:11 p.m. today to a commercial electrical fire at Reynolds Consumer Products, 2226 E. Morton Avenue.

Firefighters quickly contained the fire to the building’s main electrical switchgear, preventing extension beyond the affected equipment. Ameren Illinois personnel assisted with securing and managing the electrical and gas utilities.

Responding agencies included Jacksonville Fire Department, South Jacksonville Fire Department, Jacksonville Police Department, Jacksonville/Morgan Emergency Management, and Ameren Illinois.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Thank you to all responding agencies and utility personnel for their coordinated response.
