B17 my father and I were able to see and remember when 70 years ago my father flew in them as aircrew.

Heres a true story from one of my many adventures while on active duty in the Worlds Best Military in the World. Our plane was on destination to Oahu Hawaii when 4 of us decided to visit Sacred Falls which is in the middle of Oahu. On landing at the airfield one of us ran and got a rental car. We finished putting the plane to bed and headed out. We werent prepared for what we were about to face. We arrived approximately 3pm at the Park. There were a few cars in the parking lot but no people. So we started on the path going thru a valley full of trees and roots we had to walk over. We finally met some people coming past us and we were able to see they had lanterns and flashlights which we didnt have. We decided to run so we ran probably 2 miles or so and started hearing water falls in the distance. It was getting dark now and we were climbing over big rocks so I decided to wait at the rocks while the others went on to see the Falls. I couldnt see them anymore now only hear them. After about an hour or so I heard them coming back. They finally arrived and said they werent able to make it to the Falls and so we started out going back to the jeep. We had no flashlights so one of the group had an Omega watch with the back light. All the way back we were gathered up next to each other watching ahead while the person with the watch kept his finger on the light button. We were told there were Ferel pigs and if it rained we would have to worry about floods. We saw several paths as the light only brightened about 2 feet in front of us. To end the story we ended up right where we went into the park and were able to get back to the Hotel before 6 am when we were to meet up with the Pilots. Thats my story and im sticking to it.
