💧 Help Jamestown Conserve Water!
With much of North Carolina experiencing drought conditions, including extreme drought in Guilford County, the Town of Jamestown encourages residents to be mindful of their water use and practice voluntary water conservation.
Small changes can make a big difference! Here are a few ways to help conserve water at home:
🚿 Keep showers to five minutes or less. 🦷 Turn off the faucet while brushing your teeth or shaving. 🧺 Run dishwashers and washing machines only with full loads. 🔧 Check for and repair leaky faucets and toilets. 🌱 Limit outdoor watering to what is necessary to keep plants alive. 🚗 Limit vehicle washing and avoid washing down driveways, sidewalks, and patios. 🏊 Avoid filling swimming pools and wading pools.
Every drop counts! Thank you for doing your part to conserve water and help protect our region’s water resources. 💙

📢 Public Health Notice: Confirmed Rabies Case in Jamestown
Guilford County has confirmed a case of rabies in a raccoon found on Kearns Street in Jamestown on October 8th.
While this is an important reminder to stay aware, there are simple steps we can all take to help protect ourselves, our families, and our pets.
🐾 A few important reminders:
Keep rabies vaccinations current for dogs, cats, and ferrets age 4 months and older.
Supervise pets when they are outdoors and avoid contact with wildlife.
Never approach or handle wild animals, whether they appear healthy, sick, or injured.
Avoid leaving pet food outdoors, as it can attract wildlife.
If you or your pet has had contact with a potentially rabid animal, seek appropriate guidance promptly. If a person is bitten, wash the area immediately with soap and water, seek medical attention, and report the bite to Animal Control.
📞 Questions or concerns? Please contact Guilford County.
