Fentress County Democratic Party We are the local representation of the Tennessee Democratic Party. We are the local branch of the State Democratic Party. Our Chairperson is Caren Wheeley.

We meet the third Thursday of the month in the small courtroom of the Courthouse at 6pm. We stand for progressive ideas and a future of income equality. Issues we are promoting include affordable health care for all, food and housing security, a strong public education system leading to a competent workforce, a government accountable to all its people, not just the super-rich, and a woman's right to choose, which we believe leads to planned families and a more nurturing atmosphere for our children.

Congratulations to Jerri Green (governor), Mike Croley for Congress, Marquita Bradshaw (senate), and Jason Goodman, and Seth McMillian (state house). I also was glad to see Justin Pearson win the Dem congressional primary for Dist 9 after all the redistricting shenanigans by our worthless state legislature.

Well, Haggerty responded to my request to vote NO on the SAVE Act. GRRR What a jerk.

"I am pleased to join my Republican colleagues as a cosponsor of the SAVE Act, commonsense legislation to ensure that only Americans participate in our elections by requiring proof of citizenship. It maintains the states’ constitutional authority to administer elections, while simultaneously protecting our citizens’ right to vote from being diluted by ineligible voters, a serious concern in light of the Biden Administration’s egregious facilitation of millions of illegal immigrants crossing our borders. ...

"The American people delivered a strong message to Washington by electing President Trump. Throughout his campaign, President Trump ran on the commitment to restore the integrity of American elections. He recently signed Executive Order 14248, entitled “Preserving and Protecting the Integrity of American Elections,” which requires proof of citizenship on voter registration forms, and also prioritizes prosecution of election crimes and elimination of foreign interference in elections.

"The bedrock of our republic is fair elections in which all Americans can trust, and that requires ensuring that only legal voters can vote in them. As your Senator, I look forward to continue working with President Trump and Senate Republicans to advance the SAVE Act and other legislation to strengthen election integrity.
