Jasper Police Department

It is with heavy hearts that the Jasper Police Department mourns the passing of our retired brother and friend, Jeremy Lee.

Jeremy dedicated 31 distinguished years to our department, serving in roles ranging from Dispatcher and Patrol Officer to Detective Lieutenant, before retiring in 2022. His commitment to protecting others never wavered; for the past three years, he continued his service as a School Resource Officer with the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.

Jeremy built a remarkable career centered on protecting our community and keeping our schools safe.

Our deepest condolences, thoughts, and prayers go out to his family and friends.

This morning, JPD welcomed students from the Tour of Opportunity - Public Safety Pathway! Students got a firsthand look at law enforcement, fire, and EMS through demonstrations and conversations with local public safety professionals.

A big thanks to the Jasper Fire Department and Deaconess Memorial Medical Center EMS for partnering with us to make this experience possible

Earlier today, Chief Dick and Lt. Burger had the opportunity to give students participating in the Sister-City Exchange a tour of the Jasper Police Department.

The exchange program brings students from Germany to Jasper to stay with local host families, while Jasper students have the opportunity to travel to Germany and experience life with a host family there.

We were happy to welcome the students to JPD and give them a look at public safety and what we do here in Jasper.

Thanks for stopping by, and we hope you enjoyed your visit!

SCAM ALERT – RENTAL PROPERTIES

The Jasper Police Department is warning the public about a potential rental scam in our area.

Scammers are using photos of local homes that are actually for sale and posting them on social media as properties available for rent. They may ask interested renters to send money electronically to secure the property.

Please use caution! Before sending any money, verify that the person offering the property is actually authorized to rent it and that the property is legitimately available.

If something seems too good to be true, take a step back and verify it first. Never send money electronically before confirming who you are dealing with.

Please share this information with friends and family who may be looking for a rental property.
